ChenMoore provided engineering and environmental services for the Dover Ditch Living Shoreline project on behalf of the Village and in coordination with the Loxahatchee River Preservation Initiative (LRPI).
The project builds on a conceptual design previously prepared and is intended to advance the improvement from concept into a ready-to-bid package. Because the project was identified as the first in its list to receive appropriation funding requests from the State Legislature, the effort is focused on positioning the project for implementation once funding is authorized.
The scope of work includes preparation of final construction documents, project coordination, environmental field services, and permitting support necessary to move the project forward. As part of this effort, CMA will manage meetings and coordination with the Village, perform benthic resource surveys within the project area, and develop a 90 percent construction document submittal followed by final construction documents. This work is intended to provide a complete and coordinated design package that supports both regulatory review and future construction.
In addition to design services, the project includes environmental documentation and permitting assistance required for agency approvals. This includes support for obtaining a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nationwide Permit and a Florida Department of Environmental Protection Environmental Resource Permit. Overall, the project is structured to deliver the technical, environmental, and permitting services needed to transform the Dover Ditch Living Shoreline project into a constructible and permit-ready improvement.
