ChenMoore served as lead consultant on a design-build team for the replacement of aging wastewater force mains serving the Coral Ridge service area in Fort Lauderdale. The project was developed to improve system reliability and resiliency through the installation of approximately 17,000 linear feet of new force main infrastructure ranging from 20 to 48 inches in diameter.

The alignment traversed established residential neighborhoods, commercial corridors, and heavily traveled transportation routes, requiring careful coordination to minimize impacts to residents, businesses, and motorists. ChenMoore provided accelerated engineering, permitting, and construction support services to maintain uninterrupted wastewater service while advancing the project on an aggressive schedule.

The design incorporated a combination of open-cut and trenchless installation methods, including horizontal directional drilling beneath US-1, Commercial Boulevard, and a major waterway. Extensive coordination was also required for bypass pumping operations, lift station shutdowns, maintenance of traffic planning, and stakeholder outreach to support construction activities in high-profile and highly constrained environments.

Through proactive planning and close collaboration with the City and contractor, ChenMoore successfully delivered innovative construction solutions that minimized community disruption while improving the long-term performance and reliability of the City’s wastewater collection system.
