Meet our New Vice President of External Affairs/Government Relations!

CMA welcomes Tim Hogans Vice President of External Affairs & Economic Development. In his new role, Tim will work on various engineering and public policy initiatives across the country. In years past, he has developed key relationships with elected officials across the U.S., managed strategic engagement initiatives with the National Association of Counties, Florida Association of Counties, Broward League of Cities, American Public Power Association, National Rural Electric Cooperative Association, and the Florida Chamber.

Most recently, Tim completed a successful 22-year career at Florida Power & Light Company and has served in multiple leadership roles within External Affairs, Regulatory and Political Affairs, Marketing & Communications, Power Delivery (Distribution), GridLiance (Origination and Late-Stage Transmission), Customer Service, Resource/Budget Lead, Production Lead, and Customer Project Manager. Tim completed the inaugural Next Step Rotation 18-Month Program where he assisted in creating the groundbreaking EV car dealership partnership and coordinated the Liquid Nitrogen Gas EDGE campaign with partners in Argentina and GEXA colleagues. Fun fact, Tim has worked storm duty for every hurricane since 2003.

Tim is Lean Six Sigma Greenbelt certified, NextEra Energy Leadership Edge class of 2018 and completed the Harvard Law School Negotiation and Leadership Executive Education training. Tim holds a B.S. and master’s degree in electrical engineering from Florida State University.

Tim lives in Miami with his wife, Cortnee, and two children. In his free time, he enjoys fishing, golfing, and traveling. Tim actively serves his community through a variety of charitable organizations. Currently, he is Chairman of the Board for Urban League of Broward County, President of Sigma Pi Phi Fraternity, Lifetime member of Leadership Broward (class 33). He is past Chair of Leadership Florida Connect Class 12, past Chairman of the Board for Pompano Beach Chamber of Commerce, and past Chairman of the Board for Coral Springs Coconut Creek Chamber of Commerce.
